2. South African National Standards (SANS) – Relevant Standards:  – SANS 10222-3: Governs electric fencing installations, ensuring non-lethal, safe systems.  – SANS 10139: Specifies requirements for fire detection and alarm systems.  – SANS 60849: Applies to public address systems for emergency sound systems.  – SANS 10142-1: Covers electrical installations, including gate motors and vehicle booms.    – SANS 10313: Addresses access control system safety and performance.  – Our Compliance:    – All installations meet SANS specifications, with certified components (e.g., SANS 60335-2-76 compliant energizers for fencing).    – We issue Certificates of Compliance (CoC) for fire detection, electrical systems, and Electric Fence Certificates of Compliance (EFCoC) for fencing.    – Regular audits ensure ongoing adherence, with bi-annual EFCoC renewals for electric fencing.
3. Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)– Requirement: Under POPIA (Act 4 of 2013), personal data collected via biometric systems, access control, or monitoring must be securely stored, processed, and used with consent.  – Our Compliance:    – Biometric data (e.g., fingerprints, facial recognition) is encrypted (AES-128 or higher) and stored securely.    – Clients and users are informed of data usage, with explicit consent obtained before enrollment.    – Access to data is restricted to authorized personnel, with audit logs maintained.    – Data breaches are reported within 72 hours per POPIA requirements, with immediate client notification.
4. Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)– Requirement: OHSA (Act 85 of 1993) mandates safe installation and operation of systems like electric fencing to prevent injury or liability.  – Our Compliance:    – Electric fencing installations include warning signs (100mm x 200mm, every 10m on public paths), neighbor consent for angled brackets (max 45° inward), and no electrification of barbed/razor wire.    – Safety features like anti-crush sensors for gate motors and vehicle booms are standard.    – Risk assessments are conducted before installation to identify hazards (e.g., child safety, pacemaker interference).  
5. Local Bylaws and Insurance Requirements– Requirement: Municipal bylaws and insurance providers often mandate compliance certificates and adherence to safety standards for security systems.  – Our Compliance:  – We provide CoC/EFCoC for all relevant installations, ensuring insurance validity.    – Systems are designed to meet local fire, electrical, and building regulations, with documentation provided for municipal inspections.  – Regular maintenance ensures ongoing compliance to avoid penalties or claim rejections.
